A UK watchdog group has published a list of approximately 40 medical professionals working within the National Health Service who posted antisemitic content on social media. The organization, GnasherJew, identified doctors, consultants, surgeons, and therapists who shared conspiracy theories and celebrated violence against civilians on public platforms. The dossiers detail online activity from practicing clinicians across the country.

Among the named individuals is Dr. Mazin Fageir, a senior trauma and orthopedic surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital in London. His dossier includes screenshots from X/Twitter showing a cartoon of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wearing a Star of David armband while pushing a coffin into an Auschwitz oven. In a May 2021 post during the war in Gaza, Dr. Fageir replied to news of a rocket strike in Givatayim by writing, "May you live under rocket fire forever, amen," and stated that Israeli citizens would be "wiped out one day."

Dr. Nizar Ali Mhani, a consultant orthodontist at Cardiff University, is also listed. He compared Hamas to the Jewish fighters of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, asking if anyone would suggest the Jews used civilians as human shields because they used bunkers. Dr. Asaad Nemer Shamallakh, an anesthetist at Swansea Bay University Health Board, posted on Facebook on October 8, 2023, mourning family members killed in a missile strike. He wrote that the "Zionist succeeded in gouging out our eyes" and called for revenge to regain their homeland.

GnasherJew stated that the General Medical Council has taken little to no action on their reports. The group cited a 19% regulatory action rate in antisemitism cases and argued that this failure encourages antisemitism. They noted that no action appears to have been taken for the three named doctors despite documented material including gross antisemitism and support for terrorism.

A GMC spokesperson said antisemitism is completely unacceptable and that approximately 19.5% of doctors facing such complaints have faced regulatory action. This includes two doctors erased from the medical register, one suspended, and two who received warnings. The Royal Free London said it expects all staff to ensure online content aligns with the trust's values of fairness and respect.

These findings arrive as the Campaign Against Antisemitism released a documentary titled Malignant: Antisemitism in the NHS. The film features testimony from Jewish patients and staff, including a nurse in Cambridge who saw a colleague perform a Nazi salute. Polling released with the documentary found that over four in ten British Jews who used NHS services since October 7, 2023, took steps to conceal their identity. The General Dental Council was contacted for comment, but no response was received by publication time.
