Fi Slashes Prices on Satellite Dog Trackers Through Next Week
A 30 percent discount brings the Fi Ultra back to its launch price, though users must still pay for a service subscription.

Pet owners concerned about losing a wandering animal can now buy a satellite-connected tracker for less. Fi is running a promotion that cuts 30 percent off several of its GPS devices through October 25. Shoppers must enter the coupon code SCARY at checkout to receive the discount.
The deal covers multiple models, including the Fi Ultra. The discount brings the price of that unit to $209.30. This figure matches the device's original launch price. The promotion effectively erases the price increase that occurred after the product debuted.
The Fi Ultra is designed for durability and long-range tracking. It holds an IP68 rating, making it fully waterproof in saltwater. The battery lasts up to five days, a duration that varies based on how active the dog is. The device clips onto a collar or harness and uses a mix of LTE, GPS, and Starlink satellite coverage. This combination allows the tracker to show a pet's location even where cellular service is unavailable. The unit can also play sounds and vibrate to get a dog's attention. Fi states it is the first dog tracker to combine T-Satellite with Starlink, GPS, and LTE.
The Verge tested the tracker earlier this year in a remote part of South Carolina. The device provided precise tracking data. However, the update interval was two or three minutes, which could be a problem for fast dogs. Battery life dropped in Lost Mode, where a full charge lasted barely two days. The unit is fairly large, so it suits bigger dogs better than smaller breeds.
An active subscription is required to use the tracking features. Fi gives a discount on the first term. The company offers six-month, one-year, and two-year plans with lower overall monthly rates. A one-year plan costs $99 for the first year and $189 for each year after. The plans work only in the United States. There is no satellite coverage in Alaska.
Other deals are available from different retailers. Amazon sells a physical copy of Kirby Air Riders for the Nintendo Switch 2 at $48.99. This price is down from the usual $69.99. The game offers customization options for characters and karts. Cosmetic and functional upgrades unlock over time. The JLab JBuds Talk USB-C microphone is listed at $24.99 on Amazon. Its price usually ranges between $50 and $100. The mic offers four directional modes and a 96KHz/24-bit sample rate for clear voice recordings. Amazon also lists Lego's Star Wars Grogu set at $103.99. This price is $26 off and matches its lowest price to date. The 1,200-piece kit depicts Grogu in beskar armor and includes a satchel. Builders can swap his arms and facial features for different expressions. A built-in lever turns his head.
