A vehicle fired shots at people gathered outside a licensed premises in Loganholme, Queensland, on Saturday evening, leaving four individuals injured. Police received reports of the gunfire at 8:15 p.m. and responded to the scene on Bryants Road. Officers observed the suspect vehicle departing the area before the arrival of emergency crews.

The four wounded persons were transported to a hospital for medical evaluation. Their conditions were being assessed by staff upon arrival. Queensland Police deputy commander Chris Stream described the scene as confronting. He noted on the Today show that multiple individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the brief incident.

The venue, Fitzys Loganholme, was hosting the Logan City Titles Fight Night. Logan mayor Jon Raven stated that residents in the immediate vicinity expressed fear following the event. Raven told the Today program that the shooting sent a shockwave through the community. He remarked that locals had not witnessed an incident of this nature in Logan previously.

Raven expressed sympathy for the victims, event staff, and attendees. He characterized the environment as family-friendly, noting the presence of many children at similar past events. The mayor stated that the trauma would impact the children for the rest of their lives. He emphasized that the event was designed to steer young people away from violence.

The organizer of the night aimed to use boxing to empower and reconnect young people who might be struggling. Raven said the organizer would be devastated by the outcome. He noted that the shooting was the opposite of what the organizer intended to showcase for the community.

On Sunday morning, Logan City Titles posted a statement on social media regarding the incident. The organizers expressed heartbreak over the events. They described the gathering as a community showcase for local talent and hard work. The statement asserted that such incidents have no place in the boxing community or the wider public sphere.

Police identified the offenders as remaining at large. Authorities stated they did not believe an ongoing threat existed for the general public. Investigators urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact them to assist in the investigation.
