Samsung will release the Galaxy W27 in China on October 29, according to a new leak. The device is the last foldable the company plans to ship in 2026.
The leaker Ice Universe shared an image of the phone. It features a glossy blue back and gold accents around the triple-camera array. The design is distinct from Samsung’s standard global lineup.
The W27 is a China-only variant. This follows a yearly tradition where Samsung releases a special edition of its top foldable for the Chinese market. These versions usually include extra styling and unique packaging. The W27 is essentially a rebranded version of the current top-tier model.
For 2026, the top model is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. The specifications for the W27 match that device. The physical design also aligns with the Ultra. This choice stands out because the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a new shape that is gaining popularity.
Wide-format foldables are becoming more common in China. Xiaomi’s latest foldable uses a similar form factor. Huawei has been selling wide foldables for a longer period than any other manufacturer. The market is shifting toward these broader designs.
Samsung has stated that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a commercial success. The company says the recent launch of the iPhone Duo has increased attention on its own foldable line. Analysts predict that foldable display shipments will rise by 44% in 2026. This growth is driven by the arrival of wide foldables.
Samsung has also updated several Galaxy devices to Android 17. The company has additional foldables planned for next year. If the leaked date is accurate, the W27 will be the final foldable release for 2026.
