A manhunt for Anthony Lloyd has expanded across London and six neighboring counties after the 38-year-old inmate forced his way out of a medical facility in Lewisham. Metropolitan police are treating the fugitive as a threat to himself and the public, urging witnesses to call 999 rather than engage with him directly.
Lloyd exited the health unit shortly after 4pm on Friday. Police stated he was last seen at 4.10pm heading toward Catford. Det Supt Melanie Pressley, who leads the search, confirmed officers are conducting various inquiries to locate him. She noted that the force is concerned about the risk he poses and asked residents to provide any information, however small, as a matter of urgency.
Lloyd was convicted in 2025 of actual bodily harm. The offense involved three emergency services workers in Nottinghamshire. He received a 12-month custodial sentence and was transferred to the Lewisham medical facility in September. He is described as white, 5ft 8in, with a medium build and short dark hair. When last seen, he wore a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers.
Police believe Lloyd could be anywhere in the capital. They have also identified links to Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Merseyside. These connections have prompted a coordinated search effort across these regions. The reference number for the incident is CAD4739/23Oct.
The Metropolitan Police issued a statement on Saturday detailing the search parameters. They emphasized that Lloyd poses a risk to both himself and the public. The force has not yet located him as of the report date. Officers continue to canvass the area and review available evidence.
