Samsung has identified 40 specific Galaxy devices that will receive its new software update in Japan. The company confirmed this list on Wednesday, outlining a schedule for the rollout of One UI 9, which is built on Android 17. The update will reach these devices between October and November 2026.
The software debuted in September on the Galaxy S26 series. It has since reached some models from the previous generation. Samsung Japan published the official list of additional smartphones and tablets eligible for the upgrade. While the timing is specific to the Japanese market, the list of eligible hardware is expected to apply to owners worldwide.
The list includes flagship models such as the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. It also covers the Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra, along with the Galaxy S24, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, S23, and S23 Ultra. Foldable devices on the list include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5.
Several mid-range phones are also included in the update plan. These are the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25. Samsung listed a wide range of tablets as well. The list includes the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra, the Tab S10, S10+, and S10 Ultra, and the Tab S10 FE and S10 FE+.
Other tablets on the roster are the Tab S10 Lite, Tab S9, S9+, and S9 Ultra, as well as the Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+. The list also covers the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024), Tab A11, Tab A11+/5G, and Tab Active 5 Pro. This completes the set of 40 devices named for the current phase of the rollout.
The list is not exhaustive. It omits some obvious candidates, such as the "Plus" versions of recent Galaxy S flagships. It also leaves out many Galaxy A models and devices sold in other regions. Samsung expects to continue rolling out the software globally beyond the October and November window in Japan. Many entry-level devices are likely to be updated through December and January.
