Jay-Z Set for $30 Million Super Bowl LXI Halftime Slot at SoFi Stadium

The National Football League has finalized the headliner for its next major production. On Monday, the league, Apple Music, and Jay-Z confirmed that the rapper will perform the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show.

The performance is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. This marks the first time Jay-Z will headboard the event, despite his deep ties to the league and the hip-hop genre that now dominates the show.

Roc Nation, Jay-Z's production company, has managed the halftime production since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year contract extension that secures its role through 2029. Under this management, the shows have shifted focus toward hip-hop and rap artists.

The 2026 show at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara featured Bad Bunny, with guest appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. The last halftime performance in Los Angeles occurred in 2022. That event featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, alongside cameos from 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak.

Jay-Z is currently touring to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. His Jay-Z 30 Tour began with three nights at Yankee Stadium in July. He followed that with two shows in London and one in Paris in September.

The tour concluded with two performances at SoFi Stadium on Oct. 23 and 24. These final dates effectively served as a rehearsal for the upcoming Super Bowl appearance at the same venue.
