Voters in San Diego County have until Tuesday, Nov. 3, to cast their ballots by mail, drop box, or in person. Residents in Poway, 4S Ranch, Rancho Bernardo, and Carmel Mountain Ranch have access to specific locations for each method. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day to be counted.
The San Diego County Registrar of Voters operates official ballot drop boxes in these areas. Some boxes are available around the clock through Monday, Nov. 2, while others have set operating hours. The Poway Fire Station No. 2 drop box at 16912 Westling Court remains open 24 hours a day until that date. It will close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Other 24-hour drop boxes include the 4S Ranch Library at 10433 Reserve Drive, Four Gee County Park at 16964 Four Gee Road, the Carmel Mountain Ranch Library at 3919 Townsgate Drive, and the Rancho Bernardo Library at 17110 Bernardo Center Drive. All four locations share the same schedule, staying open until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Two drop boxes in Poway operate on limited hours. The PostalAnnex+ at 14781 Pomerado Road is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, Friday, Oct. 30, and Monday, Nov. 2. It opens 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The Poway Library at 13137 Poway Road follows a similar pattern, closing on Sundays.
In-person voting is available at designated vote centers. In Poway, the Mickey Cafagna Community Center at 13094 Civic Center Drive is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Monday. Poway High School Room K1 and St. Gabriel Catholic Church Msgr. Dollen Hall also open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Saturday, Oct. 31. All three locations extend their hours to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Residents in ZIP codes 92127 and 92128 have three vote center options each. In 92127, voting occurs at the 4S Ranch Sports Park Gym, the Rancho Bernardo-Glassman Recreation Center, and the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Station No. 2. In 92128, centers are located in the Carmel Mountain Ranch/Sabre Springs Recreation Center, Hope United Methodist Church, and Rancho Bernardo High School. These sites operate 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Saturday through Monday and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Voters can direct questions to the San Diego County Registrar of Voters by calling 858-565-5800 or visiting sdvote.com. The county provides these resources to ensure residents can find the nearest location to submit their vote before the deadline.
